4th Grade Recorder

Students are provided their initial recorder by the school, and will be choosing their recorder colors at the end of September. Here are the available colors for students to choose from: 

(NOTE: the "Hunter Green", "Royal Blue" and "Electric Green" recorders are slightly darker in person)

The recorders we order are the Harmony recorders from West Music.

If your child's recorder becomes lost or broken, there are several places where they can be purchased, however I ask that if replacing one, please do not purchase one from a dollar store. The recorders sold at dollar stores are toys, not instruments, and do not have the quality or correct tone that is achieved when playing a real recorder. Also, it is very important the type of recorder that is purchased due to a difference in fingerings needed to play them. At McMasters we use a soprano Baroque style recorder.

The best local place to purchase a new recorder would be from Guitar Center. There is a store located on Fairmont Pkwy next to JCPenny.
